These Boots Were Made For… Blogging

Thigh-high boots are all the rage right now, and this was a trend I simply could not resist. Shoes are such statements of style and personality – and my shoe collection highlights the different styles I incorporate in my day-to-day fashion very accurately. I was a big fan of the riding boot trend for a while, but to be blunt, I became very bored of it. I needed something new to come along and rescue me from my boot boredom, and the thigh-highs came just in time!

As with many other looks, my favorite part about thigh-highs is that they bring a lot of versatility to your wardrobe. I personally prefer the heeled version (beware – they are not very comfortable [mine aren’t, at least]), and this can either bring an air of sophistication or power to your outfit. You can dress them up or down, and they can be family-friendly or saved for a night out on the town. I recently sported them with a black high-waisted skater skirt and a long-sleeved black and white striped cropped shirt – and it turned out to be one of my favorite outfits. I have also worn them with blue jeans and a neutral sweater to give off a classier tone.

I also really appreciate the height of the boots. Thigh-highs can have the association of being a bit more “risqué”, but I think they highlight the legs wonderfully when worn the right way. I like that in the winter they can keep you warm, but still allow you to show off some skin. At the same time, they keep the coziness that accompanies a nice sweater.
