Organization/Décor Services

For as long as I can remember, I have always been cleaning, organizing, rearranging, and decorating. I vividly remember being 5 years old and organizing my Barbie house and spending HOURS on this project until I was satisfied. This has followed me throughout the years. In high school, I learned the art of decluttering and really tapped into my artistic/expressive side in terms of my look. In college, I embraced minimalism and simplicity, while keeping my aesthetics in mind.

While my techniques have changed, my familiarity and love for organization and order has remained the same. Of course, style shifts throughout the years (which you will see while scrolling through my work) – however, being in a space that feels like YOURS is the utmost goal. A home is more than just a storage space – it is where you live, decompress, and are your truest self – and you want this to be a place that fuels you, rather than drains you.

Tornado to Tidy
Challenge: many misc. items without a specific place to go; clothes that needed to be sorted through/donated
Solution: go through everything and find designated locations for each thing; create an organization system

City Bedroom Refresh
Challenge: update the look from previous rooms to a more sophisticated, warm vibe (without spending a ton)
Solution: use a bookshelf as both storage and display; downsize desk to maximize space

Operation Fit A House into An Apartment
Challenge: move everything from my previous apartment (the size of a full home) into a small, city apartment with extremely limited storage; find a way to make a cat tree look chic… LOL
Solution: get rid of A LOT; open up the space with light furniture/decor with hints of contrast to maintain a modern look

Sizing Down
Challenge: downsize from a gigantic bedroom to one with unique storage options
Solution: use open-style closet as decor through the use of color coordination; keep surfaces/the floor space empty

Bedroom Upgrade
Challenge: fill up a HUGE, old space with my possessions, while still maintaining a cozy, homey atmosphere
Solution: delegate sections to each part of the room (reading corner, desk nook, bed area, etc.); take up space with tasteful storage (the shoe rack, for example); and string lights, and light/neutral decor to warm up the space

“Dorm” to a Bedroom
Challenge: maximize an EXTREMELY small area, while maintaining a minimalist look and feel
Solution: keep surfaces empty; use storage solutions to “hide” items that cause visual clutter (examples: underneath the bed for shoe/bin storage, curtain for closet items, drawers for belongings)

Marie Kondo has introduced the art of letting go, and since then, the world has become obsessed (and rightfully so!) While her book is great, and I would highly recommend, I wish it dove a little deeper into the distress that can be associated with a full house/room purge. Growing up with hoarding in my family, I think it’s really important to acknowledge the psychological tie that comes with anxiety and letting go. A lot of people place a large amount of emotional value within objects (past memories, associations with loved/lost ones, prior states of self), and this can pose a conflict when it comes to letting go.

I know this struggle all too well, and I would love to help you at a pace that works for you, and only you. And if you’re already content with the state of your belongings or are simply just not ready to let go but would like to make a space more YOU, I can help with that too. There is no challenge I love more than using a space as efficiently as possible, while keeping it inviting and cozy at the same time. Even better? Using what you have rather than buying all new things to improve your space.

At the current moment, my rates are not set in stone. Each individual presents a different scenario, and before providing a cost, I would like to connect first on your wants/needs/expectations. That way, you are satisfied with the experience, and I am not overcharging/undercharging by using a fixed rate.

Want to connect? Shoot me an email: toneoftaylor@gmail.com

Looking forward to working with you!
