I have always looooved these type of posts for other people/bloggers. I don’t know why, but seeing the contents of other peoples’ bags, fridges, closets, etc. has always been so fascinating to me – it really tells a lot about a person. So, I decided to do one of my own!
Sadly, I’m not seeing my exact bag on the Kate Spade site, but here is a very similar one to the one I have (and it’s half-off!!!) I actually like the outside zipper more on this one! I prefer to wear a small bag every day. I used to be a big bag girl, but I actually really hate carrying anything for that matter, so the smaller the better. It also forced me to cut down on the amount of items I carry, believe it or not.
For starters… I am both impressed and shocked by a) at the amount of things I carry around on a daily basis and b) that my bag can hold so much! I never really knew how much I had in there until I emptied it all out.. Shoutout to Kate (my Kate Spade, of course). For the sake of walking you all through, I figured sorting by compartment would make the most sense.
In the outside pocket of my bag, I carry:
– my SmartLink PATH card
– my work ID (yes, I purposely hid my ID picture)
This location is best for easy access throughout my day.
In the inside pocket, I always keep:
– Burt’s Bee’s Lip Balm
– Burt’s Bee’s Tinted Lip Balm (Red Dahlia is my favorite shade for an easy, subtle pop of color)
– SuperGoop! SPF 30 Lip Balm
– EcoBrow Defining Crayon (for those of you who have read my ‘It’s Time to Detox: Makeup/Feminine Wellness’ post, this is my newest addition since – and I’m OBSESSED)
– a hair tie
These are the items that I regularly use, but are too small to risk losing within the depths of my bag.
Can you tell I’m a commuter?! In the main compartment of my bag, I have the larger, more practical items:
– hand sanitizer (a MUST for public transportation)
– AirPods
– sunglasses and case (I’ve noticed that they actually don’t break/get lost if I carry a case, so I always have both with me)
– a pen (for all the brunches with 8 people but only 2 pens)
– my wallet (also Kate Spade – I decided to spruce things up with a fun pop of red)
– portable phone charger and accompanying charging cord
– wall charging cord
– Kopari mini deodorant
Lastly, we have the inside zipper AKA my medicine cabinet. Clearly, I try to be prepared for anything that may come up, and I’ve never once regretted it. In here, I have:
– cough drops
– Cold-Eeze (because I am constantly getting sick, and there’s always something going around the office),
– Tide-to-Go (highly recommend keeping on on you!!!! I can’t tell you how many people have needed this at a Happy Hour or during lunch)
– Midol/Advil
– my prescribed migraine medication
– Honey Pot tampons
– a rollerball that is supposed to help with migraines (but I really haven’t noticed a difference)
– some homeopathic anxiety relief (my dad insisted I buy this when my cat died last year that I actually forgot were in my bag)
– my prescribed Zoloft
There you have it! I try to check my bag to make sure it’s tidy before I go to bed every night just to make sure I’m not thrown off by something that was thrown into the right compartment.
What are your must-haves that you carry in your bag?
Truly,
Taylor
